Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Dr. Brenda Juste. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.


Dr. Brenda , we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.

I found my purpose during a season of fasting, praying, and crying out to God when I was stuck in job assignments that made me miserable. Every day I asked Him, “How long do I have to keep doing this? I’m tired. I can’t do this anymore.”

In the middle of my tears, I began to hear Him whisper, “I am doing something new in you something eyes can’t see and ears can’t hear.”


I didn’t realize that He was developing me equipping me with skills, knowledge, and leadership so He could position me for the ministry He called me to. After years of struggle, I kept my eyes on God until He birthed the vision He placed inside of me: becoming the Founder and CEO of Meagan’s Academic Tutorial Center.

My purpose wasn’t just to run a business. It was to serve my community by leading, teaching, tutoring, mentoring, and ministering to children helping them become strong mathematicians, confident readers, and courageous voices. I wanted them to carry the baton of hope so they could help other students, just as hope was given to them when they walked through our doors.


Purpose wasn’t found in comfort it was birthed through prayer, tears, and obedience.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

I am the Founder and CEO of Meagan’s Academic Tutorial Center, but before it ever existed, it was a calling God placed on my life. I didn’t build this through ambition I surrendered to an assignment.

For years, I worked in environments that left me broken, overlooked, and unfulfilled. I cried out to God daily, “Why am I here? How long must I do this? I am tired.” I didn’t realize that God was shaping me in the hidden place, preparing me for something greater. I held onto His word: “Be still, and know that I am God” (Psalm 46:10).

Through seasons of pain, God was preparing my purpose. He was developing my character, sharpening my skills, and molding the leadership I would one day need to serve His people. Scripture reminds us: “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who are called according to His purpose” (Romans 8:28). Even when I couldn’t see it, God was working.


Meagan’s Academic Tutorial Center was birthed through prayer, tears, and obedience. God took my wilderness and turned it into a promise fulfilled. Today, MATC is more than a tutoring center it is a sanctuary of healing, transformation, and hope. We don’t just teach children; we speak life into them. We remind them of their God-given identity: “I am fearfully and wonderfully made” (Psalm 139:14).

What makes this work so beautiful is watching God move. We see students who once struggled academically walk through our doors and leave with confidence, courage, and excellence. We have watched children labeled “behind” become proficient readers and strong mathematicians. We see shy students find their voice and young leaders emerge.

To me, that is ministry that is “the glory of children” becoming their strength (Proverbs 17:6).

We are stepping into new territories that I believe are part of God’s bigger assignment. We are expanding into:


Robotics, engineering, and coding

Dance

Music: Piano and Guitar

VR-based job readiness, coaching, and placement

Leadership and workforce development

Academic camps and enrichment programs

Spiritual mentorship and character building


We are also seeking larger spaces to accommodate the growth God is bringing. This isn’t just expansion it is stewardship. “Enlarge the place of your tent… lengthen your cords, strengthen your stakes” (Isaiah 54:2). God is increasing our capacity so we can reach more children, more families, and more futures.


Nothing about this journey has been easy. I did not come from wealth, privilege, or comfort. I came from prayer, perseverance, and a promise: “See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?” (Isaiah 43:19).

Today, when I walk into MATC and see students flourishing, families restored, and lives changed, I see the faithfulness of God. I see purpose manifested.


Meagan’s Academic Tutorial Center is not just a business it is my ministry, my testimony, and my offering back to God.

My prayer is that every child who enters our doors leaves with more than improved grades. I pray they leave with hope, identity, confidence, and the belief that “with God all things are possible” (Matthew 19:26). Because what God did for me, He can do for them too.


If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?


Looking back, I believe three qualities were most impactful in my journey: faith, resilience, and leadership through service. These weren’t just skills I studied; they were traits God developed in me through process, pressure, and purpose.


1. Faith
Faith was the foundation of everything. There were seasons when nothing made sense, doors kept closing, and the outcome looked impossible. The only thing that sustained me was trusting God’s promise over my circumstances.
As Scripture says, “Walk by faith, not by sight” (2 Corinthians 5:7).
My advice for anyone early in their journey is: invite God into your process and let Him lead you. Pray, seek His voice, and be willing to step even when you don’t see the whole path. Purpose requires trust, not certainty.


2. Resilience
This journey required endurance. There were days when I wanted to quit, when the burden felt heavy, and when I questioned whether I was capable. But those moments refined me. They taught me to persist, to adapt, and to grow stronger.
Scripture reminds us that, “Suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope” (Romans 5:3-4).


For those just beginning: don’t despise the hard seasons. God uses adversity to develop strength, wisdom, and maturity. Keep showing up, even when it’s uncomfortable. Growth happens in the stretch.


3. Leadership Through Service
I learned that leadership isn’t about titles it’s about people. It’s about humility, compassion, and the willingness to pour into others. Real leadership impacts lives, not just metrics.
Jesus said, “Whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant” (Matthew 20:26).
My advice is to cultivate a servant’s heart. Seek to add value, lift others up, and lead with love and excellence. When your work becomes an offering, God breathes on it.


For anyone at the beginning of their journey, remember: you don’t need to have everything figured out before you start. Start with what you have, where you are, and let God shape you along the way.



The journey won’t always be easy, but it will be worth it. And the qualities God builds in you now will become the foundation of the assignment you will one day walk into.

Education is the most powerful tool for any individual to grow and progress. Educationists play an essential role and are an asset who promote education and help build healthy and stable societies. Dr. Brenda Joseph-Juste, an expert reading and math coach and the CEO of Meagan’s Academic Tutorial Center, is an education expert dedicated to helping students excel academically. She is the true epitome of outstanding leadership and has a history of improving students’ reading, writing, and math scores.  Dr. Juste has a Bachelor’s degree in Human Services with a minor in Elementary Education from Saint Thomas University. She was inclined toward education and opted for it as her full-time career, eventually motivating her to learn more about it. She studied and earned her Master’s degree from the same university in Exceptional Student Education, followed by a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University. Dr. Juste’s Ph.D. was primarily concerned with reading and mathematics, giving her the apt title of the “doctor of reading and math.” She has worked as a teacher, reading director, math, science, and reading coach, and as a curriculum specialist. Her honest intentions toward her work have made her successful in changing many lives as an educator. She struggled greatly in reading and math because her parents were not proficient in English and could not assist her in academics. During that time, Dr. Juste was on the verge of failing school, was demotivated, and almost ready to give up; but something kept motivating her to move forward, and she is witnessing the fruits of that determination to date. With big dreams in her eyes, Dr. Juste looked to her community for help, allowing her to learn and work hard. The journey was challenging, with many sleepless nights and numerous struggling moments, but she persevered, hoping to overcome the weak points in her studies. Her hard work finally paid off, and her academic record started to improve. Dr. Juste learned the importance of guidance and tutoring from her times as a child struggling to keep up with school and went on a mission to help as many students as possible. This passion led to the establishment of Meagan’s Academic Tutorial Center – a center dedicated to assisting students in finding solutions to issues they faced related to math, reading, and writing. Meagan’s Academic Tutorial Center , founded by Dr. Brenda Joseph-Juste, is an after-school tutoring center that provides homework assistance to struggling and interested students. Success doesn’t come overnight; it takes consistent hard work, dedication, and motivation to follow your dreams in order to reach the heights you are destined for. Dr. Brenda Joseph-Juste, the founder of Meagan’s Academic Tutorial Center , is a skillful leader and a dedicated teacher with an inspiring journey of rising against the odds. She started her career in education with a vision to help students achieve their academic goals. As an educator, she takes pride in helping and guiding her students academically and morally. She began as a 4th-grade teacher at Saint Monica Catholic School right after graduating in Human Services from Saint Thomas University with a minor in Elementary Education. She believes that both academic progress and self-development are essential components of good teaching methodology. During her time teaching in Saint Monica, her expertise and exceptional teaching skills helped students get high scores on their end-of-year reading state assessments. This was just the beginning of many highs in her journey, and she was commended for her role and promoted to Reading Director. She also completed her Master’s in Exceptional Student Education from the same university.  Her passion for teaching led her to work towards earning a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University. Dr. Juste believes that teaching is gratifying as it allows you to build a strong connection with your students.
