Dr. Juste received a bachelor’s degree from Saint Thomas University in Human Services with a minor in Elementary Education. Immediately thereafter, Dr. Juste began her teaching career at Saint Monica Catholic school as a 4th grade teacher and a year later was promoted to reading director specifically because most of her students received extremely high scores on their end of year reading state assessments. While teaching at Saint Monica Catholic School, Dr. Juste went back to Saint Thomas University and received a master degree in Exceptional Student Education. Dr. Juste’s love for teaching led her to attend Nova Southeastern University where she obtained her Doctorate degree in Educational Leadership with a concentration in reading. Dr. Juste’s dissertation focused on evaluating the Houghton Mifflin reading program and assessing its effectiveness in improving student’s reading scores.

Dr. Juste left Saint Monica Catholic School and began working for Miami Dade County public schools as a 3rd grade reading teacher. Dr. Juste also worked as math coach, science coach as well as a reading coach while at Miami Dade Public Schools. Dr. Juste’s passion for teaching showed as her students consistently surpassed minimum test scores that the school district required. Dr. Juste was later promoted as a curriculum specialist where she worked closely with the assistant superintend and curriculum directors to write reading curriculum geared towards school needs with a focus on common core standards to better prepare students for the Florida Standard Assessment (FSA) where students will become college ready once they graduate high school. Dr. Juste’s duties as a Curriculum Specialist included being assigned to 20+ F schools that she was responsible to turning around and be rated a minimum letter grade of C or better at the end of school year. Dr. Juste’s schools indeed made significant improvements under her leadership where 19 of those schools received a letter grade of C or better.
